While the rest of the United States is being blanketed by snow we here in the Sunshine State truly feel bad for you … kind of. Welcome to Florida, where you can wear short and tan year-round, and host a killer euro show without worrying about the cold weather and snow. Sure it gets cool down here, but we welcome that as a break. Enough with the weather report, welcome to Euro Tripper 2! February 2014 hosted the second edition of the all euro event in sunny Ft. Myers, Florida. The Germain Arena hosted the show again this year, and if you missed the second edition of this ever growing event it’s safe to say you really missed out.
Each year this event has been coordinated by one man, Paul Barney. Needless to say Paul does not put this event together alone as the Ft. Myers local euro heads always pitch in a hand to help work registration, parking, and clean up. This year saw an increased number of vendors including Simply Clean, Lowered Lifestyle, UROtuning, Forge, Brada Wheels, and HighwayStar Garage. The festivities kicked off on Friday night with the Club Euro pre-meet. The weather held up, and despite a little cool air and a runaway golf cart with a few spirited visitors the meet went off without a hitch.
Paul took the time to fill us in on the positive contributions intended to be made to the Brooks Legacy Animal Rescue each year with proceeds from the event. This year drew in $1000! Everything from Minis to Mercedes, Volkswagens, and BMWs made the trip out to fill the arena parking lot. Trophies were provided by CCW for different categories such as best in class and best wheels, and Slammered-Inc provided a very nice, and very greasy best engine trophy.
Paul wanted to make sure a special thanks went out to the major sponsors of the show: Simply Clean, Lowered Lifestyle, UROtuning, Naples Speed, VW of Ft. Myers, Eurospec Motorsports, Rod Wraps, and a special thanks to Forge Motorsports for bringing out their incredible MK1 Berg race car and the ever lovely Forge girls! See you at Euro Tripper 3!
